Story Of EX Christian Erin Fannoun Reverted to Islam .

April 12, 1998:  Bismillah Arahman Araheem. My intention in writing my story is that for Allah's sake, I may help someone who is searching for the Truth, to realize that they have found it in Islam. I began writing this on Easter Sunday, kind of appropriate, I think. I have been Muslim now for seven years, all praise is for Allah. I first learned of Islam wh ile attending University, from a Muslim friend of mine. I had managed to get out of a very good, college-prep high school believing that the Quran was a Jewish book, and that Muslims were idol worshipping pagans. I was not interested in learning about a new religion. I held the ethnocentric view that if since the US was ‘#1’, we must have the best of everything, including religion. I knew that Christianity wasn't perfect, but believed that it was the best that there was. I had long held the opinion that although the Bible contained the word of God, it also contained the word of the common man, who wrote it down. ...

Assad is a terrorist, no way we will talk to him’ – Erdogan

BEIRUT, LEBANONN  – the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed the Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad during a press conference in Tunisia, labeling him a ‘terrorist.’ ” It’s impossible to work on a solution in Syria with Assad, he is a terrorist leading a state of terror,” Erdogan told the crowd. “No way that we will talk with Assad, he is to be blamed for state terror,” Erdogan added. Previously, there some rumblings about possible rapprochement between the Syrian and Turkish governments; however, Erdogan’s latest attacks bring much doubt to these rumors.

I Planned to Destroy Islam, And I Became Muslim.

The story of how I reverted to Islam is a  story  of plans. I made plans; the group I was with made plans, and Allah made plans. And Allah is the Best of Planners. When I was a teenager, I came to the attention of a group of people with a very sinister agenda. They were and probably still are a loose association of individuals who work in government positions but have a special agenda — to destroy Islam. It is not a governmental group that I am aware of, they simply use their positions in the US government to advance their cause. One member of this group approached me because he saw that I was articulate, motivated and very much the women’s rights advocate. He told me that if I studied International Relations with an emphasis in the Middle East, he would guarantee me a job at the American Embassy in Egypt. He wanted me to eventually go there to use my position in the country to talk to Muslim women and encourage the fledgling  women’s rights  movement. I ...

Eye surgery under torchlight!

According to the visuals that went viral on social media, 32 cataract operations were done at the CHC in Nawabganj yesterday in torchlight as there was no electricity or power back-up there. The CMO earlier said the acting district magistrate has ordered a probe into the matter and the organisation entrusted with the task could be blacklisted, if found guilty. The relatives of some patients also complained that they were not provided any bed in spite of extreme cold weather conditions.  “Taking a serious note of the matter, the Uttar Pradesh government acted promptly and suspended CMO Rajendra Prasad,” Singh said. Incharge of the community health centre (CHC) at Nawabganj has also been removed. A report has been sought by the state health department regarding the entire episode.

Investing money in a company that will give him 3% of his capital is it Halal Or Haram

Praise be to Allah Firstly: it is not permissible, when forming a partnership, to agree that the owner of the capital will get a certain percentage of his capital, or a set amount. Rather his share should be a percentage of the profit, such as saying: You will get 3% of the profit. But if it is said to him: You will get 3% of your capital, or you will get one hundred and fifty dollars, this renders the partnership invalid. If, combined with that, his capital is guaranteed (and he will not lose any of it), as you mentioned, then this transaction is a riba-based loan. Ibn Qudaamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If the share of one of the partners is set as a specific amount of money, or a sum of money is set along with his share – such as if he stipulates that he will have a percentage plus ten dirhams, the partnership becomes invalid. Ibn al-Mundhir said: All of the scholars from whom I learned are agreed that the mudaarabah partnership is invalidated if one or bo...

Why is Mahr a Must in Marriage? How Much to Give?

Praise be to Allaah. In Islam the  mahr  (dowry) is one of the rights of the wife, which is hers to take in total and is lawful for her, in contrast to the widespread practice in some countries, where the wife is given no dowry. Evidence that the wife must be given her dowry is found in many places, for example the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):  “And give to the women (whom you marry) their mahr (obligatory bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) with a good heart…”  [al-Nisaa’ 4:4] Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “This refers to the mahr (dowry).” Ibn Katheer, may Allaah have mercy on him, said, summarizing the comments of the mufassireen on this aayah: “The man must definitely pay the dowry to the woman, and he should not resent it.” Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):  “But if you intend to replace a wife by another and you have given one of them a cantar (of gold, i.e., a great amount) as mahr, take not the le...

What Happens to Your Body After Death?

Quran Says : It is He Who gives life, and causes death, and to Him you (all) shall return.  (Surat Yunus 10:56) . Death is the termination of all biological functions that sustain a living organism. Bodies of living organisms begin to decompose shortly after  death . Biologists now see physiological death as a process, more than an event; conditions once considered indicative of death are now reversible. Where in the process a biologist draws a dividing line between life and death depends on factors beyond the presence or absence of vital signs. In general, clinical death is neither necessary nor sufficient for a determination of legal death. Doctors can legally pronounce a person dead without clinical death occurring even if this patient has working heart and lungs, yet suffers a brain death.

UK Muslims Help Grenfell Homeless Survivors

LONDON – The Muslim community in Croydon, South London, has been collecting donations to help families affected by the  Grenfell  tower fire earlier this year, including aid packages to survive cold weather. “There were a lot of donations in the summer after the tragedy but none for the winter,” Florent Caillibotte, UK programs’ officer at Al-Khair Foundation told  Croydon Guardian . “Not everyone has been rehoused and there has been less and less support for them in terms of donations.” The tragedy, in which 53 adults and 18 children died, occurred in June. A lack of warm clothes left the victims, who lost everything in the fire, freezing. This week, members from the Al-Khair Foundation donated care packages to 30 of the most affected families, who are still living in hotels. The packages were delivered to the donations center, which was set up immediately after the fire. Of the 250 families dispersed when the tower block became a deadly inferno, only 49 h...

Does God Love Sinners and Non-Muslims?

The basic theme of the talk was to say how Islam brings calm to our lives and our rebellious hearts, amidst all the other things in this world that are pulling at us. The talk, attended by Muslims and non-Muslims, was well attended and well received, but there was a small group of students from one of the Evangelical Christian groups in the university, who were so keen to ask questions at the end of the talk about sin and God’s punishment. In fact, to me they seemed obsessed with the idea of sin, although this is not an idea held in mainstream Christianity. We need to understand where this obsession with sin comes from in order to answer your question properly. In the Biblical accounts of Creation, we read the story of Adam and Eve and how they sinned and were expelled from the Garden of Eden because of their sin and disobedience. The Bible account ends there, with Adam and Eve out in the cold. According to this idea, the whole of humanity down through the ages inh...

An Train Station in Israel is called as Trump .

Jerusalem: Israel’s Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz on Wednesday announced that a train station set to be built adjacent to Jerusalem’s Western Wall and will be named after United States President Donald Trump. The Jerusalem Post quoted the Israeli minister as saying, “The Western Wall is the holiest place for the Jewish people, and I decided to name the train station that leads to it after President Trump, following his historic and brave decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel.” Katz said the decision was taken to honour President Trump’s decision to consider Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. The station will be build as part of an extension of Jerusalem’s highspeed rail, which will soon reach the Western Wall. Earlier in May, Trump became the first U.S. President to visit the wall, which is considered one of the holiest sites in Judaism, during his trip to Israel. 115 bodies unearthed in Syrian mass grave

Damascus: The Syrian authorities on Saturday unearthed around 115 bodies discovered from a mass grave in northern Syria. According to Syria’s Sana news agency, the bodies were found in the northern Syrian province of Raqqa. The bodies are of civilians and soldiers killed by the Islamic State (IS) militants, who had been controlling the city before their downfall late this year. The authorities confirmed that the bodies were left out in the open before the locals buried them overnight. Also, another mass grave has been discovered by the authorities and work is currently on to retrieve the bodies. In October this year, the Syrian army and the United States-(US) backed Syrian Democratic Forces captured Raqqa, which was the de facto capital of the IS. Other areas of Raqqa were also recovered from the dreaded terrorist group. The Syrian authorities are inspecting the areas once controlled by the IS to unveil more atrocities committed by the terrorist group. Syria has been emb...

50 Suicides In 60 Days, Dark Reality Of Coaching Centres in Andhra and Telangana .

Hyderabad: Samyuktha had scored 95 per cent in class 12 exams and joined a leading coaching institute in Hyderabad three months ago to get through the national medical exam. She wanted to be a doctor. On Monday, she killed herself, leaving behind a note that talked about her inability to cope with her studies. In the last two months alone, more than 50 students have reportedly committed suicide across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Child rights activists who have been tracking these cases link many of them to students cracking up under pressure to perform. Samyuktha’s father, a driver who had dreams for his daughter, recalls how she would, despite her high score, talk about her inability to focus after enrolling in the coaching institute. “I would only advise other parents to understand what your children are going through when you put them in such colleges,” he said. Around the same time that he was grieving his loss, another video emerged of a student being mercilessly ass...

20 civilians killed in Saudi-led airstrikes in Yemen

Sanaa: At least 20 civilians were killed on Saturday when Saudi-led coalition fighter jets hit Yemen’s Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, witnesses and a medical source told Xinhua. The warplanes struck three taxis full of travellers near a crowded restaurant in the city, killing a number of people, including women and children. Dozens of clients inside the restaurant were also killed or injured, according to witnesses. Medical source in the Hodeidah hospital told Xinhua by phone that at least 20 were killed and 10 others wounded. The attack took place around noon at the al-Jarrahi district. The attack was the latest in a series of airstrikes conducted by the US-backed Saudi-led coalition air force since the start of the war in Yemen three years ago. Last Tuesday, the coalition’s warplanes targeted a crowded popular market in the southwestern province of Taiz, killing over 40 people, according to local media and witnesses. A day earlier, a family of nine members, including...

Muslim Women Can Now Travel For Haj Without Male Guardian

NEW DELHI: Terming the policy of allowing Muslim women to perform Haj only in the company of a male guardian as “injustice”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said his government has removed the restriction following which hundreds of women have applied to travel alone for the pilgrimage. According to the Ministry of Minority Affairs, now Muslim women aged above 45 will be allowed to go for the pilgrimage without ‘mahram’ in a group of at least four. In his monthly radio address ‘Mann ki baat’, the prime minister said removal of the restriction of having a male guardian or ‘mahram’ may appear as a “small thing”, but such issues “have a far reaching impact on our image as a society”. He said when he first heard of the restriction, he was surprised as to who wold have drafted such a rule. “Why this discrimination? And when I went into the depth of the matter I was surprised to find that even after 70 years of our independence, we were the ones who had imposed these restr...
