State should pay full compensation to acid attack victims at time of case registration’ Stressing the need to provide timely compensation to acid attack victims, Hyderabad HC judge and executive chairman of Telangana State Legal Service Authority Justice V Ramasubramanian asked the state government to release entire compensation amount to victims at the time of registration of case rather than wa iting for conviction. It should be done keeping in view the impact of acid attack on the victim’s social, economical and personal life, he felt. Whether any acid attack accused is punished or not, the victim has to undergo trauma caused by the attack. Hence, the government should not wait for the conviction to release the entire compensation amount. It should release the entire amount at the time of registration of the case,” he said. DAMMAM: The Saudi government has approved a plan to begin issuing tourist visas for the country, Al Watan newspaper reported yesterday. The paper’s sources stated that, in the first stage of the rollout, visas will only be available to groups of visitors through authorized tour operators. Jamal Al-Fakhri, a member of the Shoura Council and the executive committee of Tabuk Tourism Development Council, told Al Watan that he hoped Tabuk would become “a destination for tourists in the region.” He said that the Public Investment Fund (PIF) would help to promote tourism in Saudi Arabia, adding that tourism projects “with further diversify job opportunities” in the Kingdom. “There are many (potential) tour guides who are multilingual and ready to work in the field after meeting the requirements set by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH),” he continued. HYDERABAD: Sana Iqbal, a woman biker from Hyderabad, who had taken up a fight against suicide and depression, was killed in a car accident on the city outskirts. The incident took place in the wee hours of Tuesday at around 4 am at Narsinghi Gandipet road in Telangana. The 29-year-old passionate biker and her husband Abdul Nadeem met with the accident when Nadeem, who was driving the car, lost control of the Fiat Punto car that hit a road divider on the Outer Ring Road (ORR). She suffered severe head injuries and was declared dead while undergoing treatment at a nearby private hospital. Her husband sustained rib injuries and is recuperating.
