Jharkhand: mob attacks Muslims at the time of iftar; forced them to flee

Ranchi: A mob attacked Muslim houses around Iftar (breaking of fast) in the evening and assaulted several people including women in Koderma district of Jharkhand on Friday night. As a result, around 20 Muslim families were forced to flee their homes in the night. The mob also vandalised the masjid and assaulted the Muslims who were offering Maghrib prayer there. The incident took place around 6:30 PM on Friday in the Kolgarma village under Koderma police station.

A similar incident had occurred in April last year as well. For the past couple of years, a group of local Hindus has been opposing construction of a masjid in the village. The mob reportedly had been pressurizing the Muslims to withdraw their police complaints over the previous attack. Since the Muslims lodged the complaint last year, they have been facing a boycott. They are not allowed to purchase anything from the village shops and to use even public well.

Following the Friday night incident, the Muslims have filed another complaint with the police. The complaint stated that the attackers were armed with swords, axes and lathis. The complaint further stated that a crowd of hundreds of people barged into the masjid and started beating the people when Muslims were breaking fast in the masjid, leaving several injured. The injured were rushed to the Sadar hospital.

While shouting provocative slogans, the rioters vandalised the masjid and burnt the copies of Holy Quran. The rioters asked Muslims to leave the village otherwise each one of them, men, women and children would be killed. The terrorized families fled their homes in the night itself. They walked around 8 kilometers and took refuge in the campus of the district collector’s office.

In this post, we take a look at some of the oldest manuscripts of the Quran, including ones that date back to the days of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Rightly-Guided Caliphs. 10 Oldest Manuscripts of The Quran 1. Birmingham Quran Manuscript In 2015, at the University of Birmingham, scientists found an old Quranic manuscript on parchment, using clearly legible Arabic Hijazi script. It is said to be one of the oldest manuscripts, and it dates back to sometime between 568 and 645 CE, that is, probably sometime during the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself. 2. Cry Out For Him – Allah Loves Your Tears!

There are many great virtues for crying out of fear from Allah. Allah praised some of His Prophets, then explained the reason for the praise as in His saying: When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell in prostration and weeping. (Quran: 19: 58) Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet said: One who weeps out of fear of Allah, will not enter the Hell till milk returns back in the udder; and the dust raised on account of fighting in the path of Allah and the smoke of Hell will never exist together. (At-Tirmidhi) The Prophet said: Seven people Allah will give them His Shade on the Day when there would be no shade but the Shade of His Throne (i.e., on the Day of Resurrection): And they are: … and a man who remembers Allah in solitude and his eyes become tearful. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) Ibn Abbas reported: “I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: Two eyes will never be touched by the fire of Hell; an eye which weeps out of Fear of...
