The Bosnian Man Who Walked to Hajj Through 7 Countries.

A Bosnian Muslim pilgrim who left in December 2011 for the pilgrimage to Makkah by foot arrived for the 2012 Hajj after passing through seven countries including war-torn Syria.

Senad Hadzic, 47, said: “I arrived Saturday in Makkah. I am not tired, these are the best days of my life,”
He had covered 5,700 kilometres (3,540 miles) in 314 days of walking through Bosnia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Syria and Jordan to Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with a backpack weighing 20 kilos (44 pounds)
He recorded his progress on his Facebook page, where he posted a picture apparently of an entry/exit card for foreigners issued by the Syrian interior ministry. Hadzic was quoted as saying: “I passed through Syria in April. I walked some 500 kilometres in 11 days. I went through Aleppo and Damascus and passed dozens of check-points held by pro-government and rebel forces alike, but I was never detained..” “At a check-point held by (President Bashar) al-Assad’s forces the soldier ordered me to empty my backpack… When I showed them my Quran and explained I was making the pilgrimage on foot, they let me go.”
He also added: “I walked in the name of Allah, for Islam, for Bosnia-Hercegovina, for my parents and my sister.”
On his Facebook page he said Allah had shown him the way in dreams, including to go through Syria instead of Iraq. During the pilgrimage, Hadzic faced temperatures ranging from minus 35 Celsius in Bulgaria to plus 44 Celsius in Jordan. He said he had to wait in Istanbul for several weeks to get permission to cross the Bosphorus Bridge on foot and two months at the border between Jordan and Saudi Arabia to obtain an entry visa.
Masha Allah May Allah Reward Him!!!

Stretching Feet Facing the Kabah: Allowed?

Q uestions: As-salamu `alaykum. Is it wrong to sit or sleep with your feet facing the east or facing the Kabah A nswer: In his response to your question, Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states: If a person is sitting stretching his feet towards the direction of the Kabah with the specific intention of showing disrespect, then that is definitely considered a blasphemous act and a grave sin, for at all times we are ordered to respect the symbols of Allah. The Kabah, being the House of Allah, is worthy of utmost reverence. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “O Allah! Enhance the honor, status and awe of this House in the minds of those who visit or go around it.” Allah says, “Whosoever respects the symbols of Allah, he does so only by virtue of the piety embedded in their hearts.”(Al-Hajj 22:32) Having said this, however, I should further state: If a person does no...

After much trouble, first Friday prayer of Ramadan was peaceful in Gurugram

Gurugram:  After several instances of disruptions caused by a Hindu outfit in the recent past, the first Friday prayer was performed peacefully at 47 designated spots, including 23 open public spaces, across Gurugram under heavy police deployment. “It all went off peacefully. No incident of violence or disruption was reported,” said Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh as per a report by  The Hindu . The outfit Sanyukt Hindu Sangharsh Samiti that protested against Muslims praying in open spaces had assured the district administration a few days ago that it would not disturb the Friday prayers, moreover, members of the outfit had met Singh on May 16. However, despite police deployment, in a Hindu dominated village, Bhora Kalan, a few families alleged that they were not allowed by locals to pray. The members of majority community did not even let the Imam enter the village. Due to the locals objecting to Muslims conducting their Friday prayer in the open, t...

Why do Dogs start Barking (Howling) at the time of Azan ?

Q uestions: Why do dogs cry at the time of Fajr Azan? This is an incident that I’ve noticed very often. A nswer: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. There are many wonders of Allah in His Creation. Dogs are among His Creatures. It is confirmed in a Hadith that dogs see what human beings cannot see. Abu Dawud reported in his Sunan that Jabir Ibn Abdullah narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said:” If you hear the barking of dogs and the braying of donkeys by night, seek refuge in Allah, as they see what you cannot see”. Albani and others classified this Hadith as authentic. In Sahih Al Jamie’, following the above Hadith is stated: ..’And reduce going out when it is quiet( when everybody is indoors at night time) as Allah diffuses by night what He wishes among His Creation, and lock your doors and mention the Name of Allah on them as ...
