JEDDAH: Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal on Wednesday inaugurated the Jeddah Waterfront Project.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majid and Deputy Gov. Prince Abdullah bin Bandar.

Prince Khaled said: “We congratulate the nation on this project. Such great projects are usually not available at the same time and in the same place, but they were available and synchronized in the city of Jeddah.

On this occasion, I say congratulations to the Saudi population of this wonderful country and to its distinguished leader, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.”

He congratulated Prince Mishaal bin Majid and Jeddah Mayor Hani Abu Ras on the effort and creativity represented by the project.

He thanked the minister of municipal and rural affairs for his interest in the region and its projects.

Prince Khaled said: “My question to the people of Jeddah is: Will you safeguard it, or will we hear tomorrow that it is sabotaged?”

The new waterfront project is located along the Red Sea coast and has a total area of 730,000 square meters with a length of more than 4 km. It cost a total of SR800 million.

The new project, known as Jeddah Waterfront, opened its doors to residents and visitors using its logo inspired by the seagulls that live on the shores of Jeddah.

The logo is a swarm of seagulls and the project runs along the Jeddah seafront from north to south as gracefully as the flying gulls.

This development is the largest phase of development of the Jeddah marine interface and there are services and elements that have been added for the first time to the waterfront.

What Is the Correct Time to Break Fasting?

Q uestion : As-salamu `alaykum. I was in a gathering a few days ago. I was disturbed to see people divided on the issue of when to break the fasting. I saw one group breaking with the adhan over the Radio (Ramadan program), while another group still waiting with dates in their hands for the adhan to finish. What is the sound Islamic ruling on this issue? A nswer : The time for breaking the fast is the time of sunset. So if the sun sets at 4:56 pm, it is the correct time to break the fast. It is immaterial whether the adhan has been called or not. To wait for the adhan to be called after the sun has set, or to wait for the adhan to finish, is a violation of the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as he has stated clearly, “My Ummah will always enjoy blessings so long as they hasten to break their fast (as soon as the sun has set).”(Al-Bukhari and Muslim) The traditions are explicit on the fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)...
